A Survey of Semantic Based Peer-to-Peer Systems

چکیده
This paper makes a step in identifying the state of the art in semantic P2P systems. On one hand, lot of research in the P2P systems community has focused on fault-tolerance and scalability, resulting in numberous algorithms, systems such as Chord, Pastry and P-Grid. These systems, however, have no notion of semantics and consequently, have difficulty in knowledge sharing. On the other hand, research in the semantic web community have focused on knowledge sharing among different nodes with possibly different schemas. These have tended to use centralized repositories. The obvious benefits of combining P2P and semantic systems would be to have large scale collection of structured data. Several recent efforts have focused on this combination. However, there have been no attempt to have these efforts grouped in one place for easy assimilation and for finding interesting future directions; this paper fills the gap.

A Genetic Programming-based trust model for P2P Networks
Abstract— Peer-to-Peer ( P2P ) systems have been the center of attention in recent years due to their advantage . Since each node in such networks can act both as a service provider and as a client , they are subject to different attacks . Therefore it is vital to manage confidence for these vulnerable environments in order to eliminate unsafe peers . This paper investigates the use of genetic ...

Peer-to-peer applications (P2P) are no longer limited to home users, and start being accepted in academic and corporate environments. While file sharing and instant messaging applications are the most traditional examples, they are no longer the only ones benefiting from the potential advantages of P2P networks. For example, network file storage, data transmission, distributed computing, and co...
متن کاملTAC: A Topology-Aware Chord-based Peer-to-Peer Network
Among structured Peer-to-Peer systems, Chord has a general popularity due to its salient features like simplicity, high scalability, small path length with respect to network size, and flexibility on node join and departure. However, Chord doesn’t take into account the topology of underlying physical network when a new node is being added to the system, thus resulting in high routing late...

Background and Aim: The open peer review process, which is one of the peer-reviewed methods in journals, has been accepted in scientific forums. The aim of this study was to investigate the points of view of university faculty members about the open peer review process of journal articles. Materials and Methods: The study used a descriptive survey. The sample size was calculated using the Coch...
متن کاملPeer-to-Peer Semantic Search Engine
Peer-to-Peer is a relatively old but still an evolving branch of web technologies. This article gives a survey of Peer-to-Peer characteristics and their relationship to requirements usually set upon Peerto-Peer systems. From this analysis flows the idea of building a three-layer Peer-to-Peer semantic search engine.
متن کاملImproving Multi-Agent Based Resource Coordination in Peer-to-Peer Networks
The distributed nature of peer-to-peer networks offers a solid ground for the deployment of environments where multiple agents, managing several resources, can cooperate in pursuing common and individual goals while achieving good overall performance. In this article we present a survey of recent work on the integration of multi-agent systems and peer-to-peer computing for resource coordination...
